Friction modifiers
| Grade | Colour | Friction modifier | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| P10XX | White | No lubricant | Commonly used as electrical insulators. |
| P10GX | Dark Gray | Graphite | Low friction without grease, primarily in dry environments. |
| P10MX | Dark Green | Molybdenum disulphide | Wet/dry duty where high shock or edge loading is anticipated; general industrial. |
| P10PX | Orange | PTFE | Commonly used with hydraulic fluids. |
| P10GP | Light Gray | Graphite + PTFE | General industrial applications. |
| P10MP | Light Green | Graphite + MoS₂ | Wet/dry applications, high loading and slow rotational motion. |

Engineering
Machining & installation
POLYGLIDE® machines like aluminium or bronze, dry — no coolant needed. Use dust extraction. For precision turning use tungsten carbide or diamond-tipped tools; HSS tools work where accuracy below 0.13 mm is not required.
Freeze-Fit
Liquid nitrogen is most efficient; dry ice or refrigeration also work. The bearing returns to ambient temperature with proper interference in the housing.
Bonding
Polyglide® bonds well with adhesives. Glue-in bearings need ~0.13 mm (0.005") clearance and should be retained top and bottom. Adhesive recommendations available.
Mating Surface
Recommended finish 0.4–0.7 µm Ra (16–32 RMS), minimum HRB 80. Hardened or stainless steels free from cutting edges.
External Lubrication
Can accommodate water, grease or oil grooves. Water or synthetic oils/greases recommended.
